										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) is set to celebrate its 65th anniversary with a grand gala dinner, featuring His Excellency, Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, as the Special Guest of Honour.</p>
<p>The prestigious event will take place on April 12, 2025, at Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, with the red carpet reception commencing at 5:00 PM.</p>
<p>The highlight of the evening will be the inauguration of Alhaji Sheriff Balogun as the 20th President of NACC.</p>
<p>Alhaji Balogun will also unveil his leadership team, while outlining strategic initiatives to strengthen bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and the United States.</p>
<p>As part of the evening’s programme, 40 new members will be inducted into the chamber, and the NACC multi-storey building project will be officially launched.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The gala will also honour outstanding Nigerian and American companies and distinguished individuals, including past presidents of the chamber, for their contributions to economic growth and trade relations.</p>
<p>The President of Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Mr. Samaila Zubairu, will chair the event.</p>
<p>Dignitaries confirmed to attend include Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Founder and Chairman of Elizade Group, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo and Chairman of Odu’a Group, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru.</p>
<p>Others are Founder of Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola, Chairperson of Brittania-U Nigeria Limited, Catherine Uju Ifejika, Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and Chairman of Zinox Technologies Limited, Leo Stan Ekeh.</p>
<p>His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, will serve as the Chief Host of the occasion.</p>
<p>For 65 years, the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce has been at the forefront of fostering bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and the United States, serving as the premier platform for business growth, networking, and investment opportunities.</p>
<p>The Chair of the Planning Committee, Dr. Ikenna Nwosu, says all the guests will be treated to one of the grandest anniversary galas ever experienced in the country.</p>

&#8221;The United States offers a predictable and transparent legal system, low taxes, outstanding infrastructure, and access to the world&#8217;s most lucrative consumer markets for investments.</p>
<p>While Nigeria&#8217;s economy offers significant value propositions for investments, with the Federal Government adopting rigorous efforts to ensure that areas of concern for foreign investors such as red tapes, incorporation process, taxation and visa policies are relaxed.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce joined business stalwarts in the U.S. State of Delaware for Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce Q4 Minority Supplier Session (Hybrid)., where the Under Secretary of The Minority Business Development Agency &#8211; U.S. Department of Commerce, Hon. Donald Cravins, Jr., Esq. delivered an excellent remark on doing business with the State of Delaware and how Platforms like Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce support Delaware-owned businesses.</p>
<p>An ideal platform to network and discuss the thriving economy of Delaware, how minority businesses can partner for development and the services of various organizations present at the meeting; the discussion was chaired by the President of Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce, Ayanna Khan.</p>
<p>The Acting Director-General, Ms. Wofai Samuel was the only foreign speaker invited to this important meeting, and her presentation focused on the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce mission since 1960, and its success in enabling growth, development &amp; sustainability of MSMEs.</p>
<p>Her presentation also highlighted Nigeria, its existing incentives for businesses, and its comparative advantage in sub-Saharan Africa.</p>
<p>Presentations were also taken from representatives of the New Castle County (DE) Government, Dover Federal Credit Union, and other Organizations in the State of Delaware.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, NACC held it&#8217;s SPOTLIGHT Event, a dedicated platform that provides SMEs an opportunity to gain transformational knowledge from a leading best practice/role model institution.</p>
<p>Themed: &#8216;Technology as an enabler for SME Growth, Sustainability and Success&#8217;, the Event was held on Tuesday, the 31st of October 2023, at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos &#8211; Nigeria.</p>
<p>The Event featured presentations from an expert faculty of very senior facilitators who have both theoretical and experiential knowledge as active operators in the Technology and SME Ecosystem.</p>
<p><strong>In a welcome remark delivered by the President, </strong></p>
<p>Dame Adebola Williams, she stated that:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">&#8216;Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt are currently the central focus of Africa&#8217;s Tech ecosystem.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">These four nations, referred to as the “big four” markets, have received about 73% of the financing in Africa.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">Nigeria has a fast-growing tech sector mainly driven by financial services and telecommunication, home to over 400 tech start-ups and ranked 61st out of 100 countries worldwide in the start-up ecosystem index.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">Not only have various technology platforms played critical roles in helping small business owners in the U.S. and Nigeria survive recent economic turbulence, but those small businesses that fully embrace technology are outcompeting their peers&#8217;, She concluded.</p>

<p>An engagement during the mission had senior executives from the private sector seeking knowledge on the process of rental and acquisition of properties in the U.S. which continues to be a valuable investment.</p>
<p>Delegates had conversations with officials from the Palmer Farms<a>  and </a>John Deere Atlantic Tractors in Maryland.</p>
<p>Delegates also had the priviledge of visiting the White House, the United States Capitol, Maryland State House amongst others.</p>

House of Reps. &#8211; Oye Oyewole, the Mayor of Upper Marlboro &#8211; Sarah Franklin, and an officials from Prince George’s Community Credit Union.</p>
<p>The Select USA, was one of the many highpoints of the just concluded mission.</p>
<p>Operated by the U.S. Government to facilitate connections between businesses seeking to invest in the United States, the event had Representatives from each of the fifty states in attendance.</p>
<p>The Nigerian Delegation to Select USA was led by the U.S. Consul General, Mr. Will Stevens, while the NACC Delegation was led by Violet Abdulkadir.</p>
<p>The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce Trade Mission(s) to the United States remains a commitment in promoting the development of trade, commerce, and investments between the public and private sectors of both regions.</p>

<p>In a welcome remark delivered by the President, she stated that:<br />
&#8216;The theme of the meeting was timely and relevant for discerning entrepreneurs who seek to position themselves and leverage on the opportunities presented by the disruptions in global supply chain.</p>
<p>The United States has the largest consumer market in the world, with more than 330 million people and a gross domestic product of over $20 trillion.</p>
<p>African and indeed Nigerian businesses across various sectors such as food and beverage, textiles and apparel, equipment and machinery have opportunities to export to the United States’, She concluded.<br />

Key requirements highlighted for Nigerian Exporters at the Meeting were:<br />
• Possession of a valid Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Export License,<br />
• Generation of an order from a U.S. Buyer,<br />
• Ability to comply with the provisions of the rules of origin regarding a particular product,<br />
• Possession of a registered domiciliary account.</p>
<p>We continue to dialogue and seek ways of exploring socio-economic opportunities through businesses and services for the prosperity of the United States and Nigeria.</p>
